The KMBZ City Spotlight on Belton and Raymore includes the Sloan Tribby cabin, which will be reassembled in Belton's Memorial Park.

For years, the 1840s cabin was hidden inside a home that was built around it (pictured below).

After Jayhawkers sacked Morristown, Missouri and Quantrill raided Lawrence, two Union leaders met at a log cabin to work out details of Order No. 11, according to a lecture by Cass County Historical Society Director Don Peters. Order No. 11 in 1863 forced the evacuation of rural areas in four western Missouri counties.

Many homesteads were burned in response to the Union Army order, but the 18-by-20-foot cabin was left unscathed.
