Foxborough, Mass. -- The Chiefs scored 23 unanswered points against the New England Patriots and held on for a 23-16 victory, clinching their fourth-consecutive AFC West championship.

The Patriots ended a 21-game home winning streak, which was tied for the longest in team history.

Patrick Mahomes connected on his 40 passes to finish with 283 yards, a touchdown and one interception.

Travis Kelce scored on a 10-yard run.

Kansas City was able to put pressure on New England's Tom Brady throughout the game. Brady finished 9 of 36 for only 169 yards. He threw one touchdown pass and gave up one interception.

Both teams made numerous mistakes in the game. The officiating crew made questionable calls, which frustrated the Patriots, their coaches and their fans.
