The Missouri Department of Transportation announced another round of changes associated with the ongoing Interchange Improvement Project at Route 210 and I-435.

Workers will reduce southbound I-435 at Route 210 to one lane from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday to fix drainage systems. Crews will also reduce northbound I-435 to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for temporary barrier work. Then MoDOT will reduce southbound 435 to one lane on Thursday for pavement marking and traffic switches.

It is important for drivers to pay attention and put down their phones, said James Pflum, MoDOT resident engineer.

"For the next four months the southbound traffic will be in this crossover configuration so that we can rebuild the southbound bridge over 210," Pflum said.

The addition of a third lane should take care of the bottlenecking in the area and the diverging diamond will help traffic navigate more efficiently, Pflum said.

The project is slated to for completion by the end of 2019.
