Overland Park police say a clerk was stabbed at the 7-Eleven store at 107th and Metcalf at around 5:50 a.m. Wednesday.

"He was stabbed twice," said Overland Park Police Officer John Lacy. "He's in critical condition, and at the same time we're asking if anyone knows anything to give us a call."

The male employee was stabbed in the back and in the arm, Lacy said. The suspect was apprehended about two blocks away at 107th and Marty.

The suspect was in the store twice before the stabbing. Things became violent when the man returned for a third trip.

There were witnesses.

"One thing about 7-Elevens, convenience stores, people are going in and out of them every day, all morning long," Lacy said.
