Thursday’s presidential debate, the final one of the 2020 election, allowed both President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden to make one last appeal to voters across the country.

Biden opened the debate by slamming Trump’s COVID-19 response. He shared that Americans across the nation should vote him out of office on November 3rd.

“Anyone who’s responsible for not taking control, in fact… saying I take no responsibility initially, anyone who’s responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America,” Biden said.

The former vice president explained how the president took no responsibility for the virus.

However, Trump was quick to defend his role in handling the nation’s deadly health outbreak. While Biden was concerned about the recent spikes in infections, Trump promised that a vaccine would be ready in weeks.

“It will go away,” Trump said. “We’re rounding the turn. We’re rounding the corner. It’s going away.”

Biden responded, "He says we're learning to live with it. People are learning to die from it."

While the country still fights the virus, the president said that the nation “can’t keep this country closed.”

“There’s depression, alcohol, drugs at a level nobody’s ever seen before,” he added. “The cure cannot be worse than the problem itself.”

Biden was not hesitant to comment on how he would handle reopening the country.

“I would make sure that we set up national standards as to how to open up schools and open up businesses so they can be safe and give them the wherewithal, the financial resources to be able to do that,” Biden said.

Closing up the coronavirus argument, Trump claimed that he gets along with Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“I’m listening to all of them, including Anthony,” Trump added.

The president called nation’s top infectious disease expert a “good person.”
