A Lyft driver in Florida was attacked, put in a chokehold and called racial slurs after he accidentally picked up the wrong passenger at a bar, according to police.

What began as a normal trip quickly went south when the driver turned around to head toward the bar, an establishment called The Wet Spot, after receiving a call informing him that he picked up the wrong passenger, reports Click Orlando.

The driver told authorities that the passenger, Jeremy Reighard, called him racial slurs when he told him to get out of the car.

According to police, the victim was put into a chokehold when he pulled over to let Reighard out.

“(The victim) advised that Jeremy grabbed him with one arm over his forehead, pulling his head backwards and the other arm pulling his collar, attempting to choke (the victim),” the police report read.

After getting loose and out of the car, the driver tried calling the cops before the suspect grabbed his phone and smashed it to the ground, saying, “You aren’t calling the police.”

Documents indicate that the scuffle continued outside the vehicle, with Reighard charging and pushing the driver, and punching him in the side of the head.

The victim then ran down the road.

He was later arrested on charges of robbery, battery (hate crime), deprivation of 911 and criminal mischief.

He was also charged with threatening a public servant — records indicate that he became “extremely hostile” and threatened to kill police and their families.
