Sprint to layoff 500 from Overland Park headquarters

March 09, 2018 - 4:07 pm

Sprint will be cutting 500 jobs from its headquarters in Overland Park.

The Kansas City Business Journal reports the cuts are part of a broad restructuring effort by Sprint to reduce internal costs and free up money for its network and sales.

The layoffs are expected to begin in the next three to four weeks.

In 2004, Sprint had about 14,500 employees based at the JOCO campus. In recent years that had been reduced to around 6,000.
