UPDATE: A new location of possible measles exposure in Johnson County

April 16, 2018 - 4:33 pm

Now, 16 cases have been found in a measles outbreak in Johnson, Linn and Miami Counties since March 8 - all connected to one daycare.

This outbreak is not connected to two seperate cases discovered in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has added a new location of potential measles exposure - the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Leawood on April 8th.

Symptoms of measles typically begin with a high fever, cough, runny nose, and red watery eyes. Three to five days after symptoms begin, a rash starts to show up.  Call your doctors office before you go in if you think you've caught it.
